Locum doctor, dentist, physio or nurse in Uzès or Bagnols: quiet places for one or two people, monthly rates, linen provided, self check-in and wifi.

Le Nid studio in Uzès, kitchenette and double bed under the window

A one-week locum in a general practice, a month with a dentist in Uzès, a season of rounds for a nursing practice: locums often arrive the evening before, leave on the last evening, and spend their days seeing patients. The accommodation should go unnoticed. Here are the places we offer for one or two people.

What matters to a locum

After ten hours of consultations or home visits, you ask little of a place to stay, but you ask it without fail:

  • quiet, to sleep and go over your notes;
  • reliable wifi and a table to work at in the evening;
  • a kitchen, because nobody eats out for a month;
  • linen provided, so you do not travel with your sheets;
  • self check-in, at whatever time the last appointment ends.

All the properties below have self check-in with a key box or a code sent on the day, wifi, a kitchen and linen provided.

In the centre of Uzès, everything on foot

Le Nid. A 22 m² studio on the top floor, under the roof, in the quiet. A double bed, a table that doubles as a desk, a full kitchenette, fibre wifi, and a laundry room in the building. We mostly offer it by the month: €750 per month as an indication. It is the place for one person coming for a few weeks.

Le Saint Julien. A 40 m² one-bedroom for two, exposed stone and original vaulting, with a desk corner, a washing machine and a patch of greenery by the door. The place aux Herbes is two minutes away. As an indication, €390 per week or €1,100 per month, out of season.

Les Tomettes. A 28 m² first-floor studio, with a sitting area separate from the bed and a kitchen with its own table. Only one flight of stairs: the easiest of the studios for luggage.

Le Perché. A 25 m² studio under the roof, on the third floor, with a walk-in shower. It is the quietest in the building: mostly you hear the swallows.

In the centre, the car stays in the public car parks, a few minutes' walk away. If you make home visits every day, look at the next addresses instead.

A little out of town, with the car at the door

La Loggia d'Uzès. A 45 m² step-free one-bedroom apartment, in a quiet residence ten minutes' walk from the centre. Wifi and Ethernet, washing machine, dishwasher, a loggia for morning coffee, and easy parking. €420 per week or €1,250 per month as an indication.

Le Mas de Patou. A former barn converted into a loft in Saint-Hippolyte-de-Montaigu, a quiet village a quarter of an hour from Uzès and Bagnols-sur-Cèze. One bedroom and a sofa bed, an enclosed garden, a washing machine, parking in front of the house. Rate on request according to the dates.

For a locum in the Gard rhodanien, Le Patio de la Cèze, in the centre of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, offers two bedrooms, air conditioning and a work table wired for Ethernet, for €1,350 per month as an indication.

These rates exclude tourist tax, depend on season and length of stay, and are before the Pass Mission discount; the quote is binding.

Who pays for the accommodation?

We do not give legal or tax advice, but one general rule comes up often: for a self-employed locum, accommodation costs generally remain the locum's responsibility, unless agreed otherwise with the practitioner or the practice. It is worth writing into the locum contract, and the treatment of these costs is a matter for your accountant or your approved management association.

On request, the invoice is issued at the end of each stay in your name, in the name of your practice company, or in the name of the practice covering the accommodation, with a certificate of stay.

For practices that bring in locums

A practice that hosts locums several times a year can open a Pass Mission: 10 % off the nights from the first direct booking, then tiers based on the nights accumulated by the practice over twelve months, all locums combined. The business code is shared privately and works for every locum you house.

A locum that came up at the last minute? The Free this weekend page shows the properties still free over the next three weeks. For a stay of a month or more, write to us from the business page: we reply within two business hours.
